  • Winter Park Racers! - Get READY for King of the Rockies Tipperary Creek finale! The most fun race of the season! A pre-rider last Sunday says that, even with the moisture, the course is in great shape! TER will have a beer/burger, etc. spread in the team tent after the race.

    Congrats to Cal Rickard; 2nd overall in the Summit County Series, Single speed! Great job Cal!

  • TE Weekend Mountain Bike Ride (for mtn bikers not at WP this weekend) - Copper Mountain Bike Triangle - Saturday August 25

    Technical Rating : Black Fitness Rating: Extreme. This ride has it all; pathways, double track, singletrack, a few obstacles, steep descents, and a two good climbs. The ride begins at the ski area, winds around new single track on the ski hill, connects with the Colorado Trail, and continues over two passes during this epic journey. Ride time 6+hrs. There is a 28mile out'n-back option if you turn around at the top of Kokomo Pass. Ride Stats: 30 miles, 4,200ft elevation gain. Lowpoint 9,400 ft, and Highpoint 12,022 ft.     Meeting Time & Place: 7:00am for a 7:15am departure at Walmart El Rancho (I-70 Exit 252), meet at the west end towards McDonalds, or at 8:30am for a 8:45am ride briefing at Copper in the Union Creek Lot (that's to one furthest West)
    Directions to Trailhead: Copper Mtn: Take I-70 west to Copper Mountain ski area. Park in the the Union Creek Lot (free in summer). The ride begins in the grass area between the American Flyer and American Eagle ski lifts. Look for other riders here at 8:45am.
    Lunch: Out on the trail. Recommend you pack a sandwich or snack. Something more exciting than an energy bar.
    Libations: We'll be tailgating in the Union Creek Lot at Copper Mountain. This will allow the fast decenders to get an early start. Pack chairs or picnic blanket.
    Additional Notes:
    Recommend lots of water. Bring a water purifying pump if you have one.
    Note this is a high altitude ride.
    Pack plenty of energy bars/gu etc.
    Ride leader will provide maps at the pre-ride briefing.
    It's absolutely essential to RSVP to the ride leaders for this one.
    Pack decent quality rain gear, a light fleece, arm and legwarmers.

  • Saturday training - Aug 25: Morrison to Squaw Pass.

    Meet at the Morrison/Rooney Rd rally point, ready to ride by 8am.
    Route:  Go up Bear Creek Canyon to Kerr Gulch Rd (in Kitteridge), through Bergan Park and on up to the top of Squaw Pass. Return via Idaho Springs or descending Squaw, depending on group interest.
  • Hill Climb / Wednesday Training Ride - Wednesday, August 29th. Meet at the Lookout Mt Pillars at 5:30 for the early start and 6:00 for the later start. TT and interval training.  Michael Raber will be your ride leader.

    NEW! Skills training! As a regular part of the Wednesday training rides we will begin to offer training on skills related to racing and descending, at the beginning of the ascent and the beginning of the descent. The training portion will be short, with the idea being that we can practice new skills during the training ride. Also, at the beginning of the ride we will also allow time for teammates to share any training tips that have been helpful.    Hope to see you at the pillars at 5:30p!

  • ACA Race Credit - Team Evergreen Racing will be working in conjunction with Green Mountain Sports Velo to Promote the G-Cross Races. These cyclocross races will be held on Sept 23rd and Nov 25 at Robert Easton Regional Park in Littleton. TER needs to provide 10-12 volunteers for each race. Some will be needed on the day preceding the race for setup, some for marshalling the event at specified times, and some for cleanup duties after the event is over. Please visit the the volunteer forum area to sign up for the races. GMSV will provide lunch for marshals!
