Hello, my name is
Kevin Skruch and I am one of the new Co-directors of Team
Evergreen Racing. Our first priority this year is to identify
what we need to do better as a team and implement a plan of
action to achieve that. We’ve recently surveyed the membership
and identified some areas for improvement including working
together in road races, leading more productive and effective
training rides, offering more skills clinics, coaching, and more
female specific functions. While we’ll have the survey results
and an action plan out soon, I wanted to touch base with all of
you as you consider your affiliations for this coming year.
I can tell
you that we’ve already brought a coach on with the direction to
help anyone and everyone train, eat, and race better. We have
our race directors looking at how to identify key races and work
together as a team to not only do well, but have more
camaraderie. While 2007 was a great MTB season for TER, we have
quite a few roadies and we’re building more focus for road
racing, hill climbs, and TT. For instance, some of our training
rides are going to focus on pace lines to lead out key riders
for the final push. We’re even going to get more involved in
CycloCross for 2008. We’ll be bringing back Allison Dunlap MTB skills
clinics and our directors our working with sponsors to make
ordering easier and available more often. All in all, it’s going
to be an exciting year with new energy in TER.
If your
planning to leave, I completely support you and wish you the
best of luck in your endeavors. However, please drop me a note
or call me and let me know why. I will do all that I can for
anyone who feels TER wasn’t addressing their needs. Believe me,
your opinion is still very important to me.
If you are
staying and haven’t filled out the survey, I’d still like to
hear your comments on how to make our team better.
