Ironhorse
Race - get ready now!
- TER is organizing team participation in the Ironhorse Classic
Race. The HC race is Saturday, May 24, and this year there is
also a crit on Sunday and a TT on Monday. But you need to
sign up soon, as some
categories are already filling up.
Randie Polidori is organizing housing and carpooling, as well as
a shared meal on Saturday night, so please also email Randie if
you are interested in sharing a condo with team members, or
having her help reserve a hotel room. Rooms in Durango also go
fast for the weekend of the race. Additionally, Randie is also
willing to help us organize carpooling to and from the event.
Please
contact Randie if you
would like her to find you a room or help arrange carpooling.
TER participation in Team TT races.
There are two races coming up that offer a Team TT event. This
involves 4 team members riding together in a paceline, where at
least 2 riders need to cross the finish line in order to qualify
for a place.
The two races are the Haystack TT on April 12, and the Rabbit Mt
TT on Sunday May, 4.
Please contact
Michael Raber ASAP if you are
interested in participating in either of these events as we need
to register as a team.

Here's the
workout we did yesterday. The idea is to get right to the
LT for the intervals and recover just long enough to do it
again.
The pace you're aiming for is just about TT pace. By the time
you get
to the series of 4 minute intervals, the recovery passes
surprisingly
fast. By the time you hit the last one though, it feels pretty
good.
10m warm-up
1m fast pedal (med/high ~ 115 rpms)
1m recovery
1m fast pedal (med/high ~ 115 rpms)
1m recovery
10m temp (med/high intensity at 70 rpms) 2m recovery
4m steady state (med/high ~ 85-90 rpms) 2m recovery 4m steady state
(med/high ~ 85-90 rpms) 1m recovery 4m steady state (med/high ~ 85-90
rpms) 1m recovery 4m steady state (med/high ~ 85-90 rpms)
10m cool down.
Happy Training, David
