Team News      (email contact Kevin Skruch)

  • Welcome to the TER weekly news.  This email news goes out to all race team members early Thursday mornings.

  • Volunteer for THE BURN! - Team Evergreen Racers, as you may know we are putting on a race May 31st in Buffalo Creek. We are in need of volunteers. If you would like a specific position (Marshall, Venue Setup, etc) please take a look in the Forums area of our website.   Click Here
Please email me with the requested position and I’ll do my best to see that you can do what you would like.
If you would like to be a marshal you need to be a capable mountain biker. If you have already said that you would help out this year and you are not on the list please let me know. Much Thanks, Chris Brockmeier

  • Ride for the Pass - Hello all TER Hill Climbers, I have just found out about a great and fun race that would also be a great prep race for the Ironhorse.  There is a HC race up the first 10 miles of Independence Pass on Sat. May 17. It is a fundraiser to continue to revitalize vegetation on Independence Pass. So, if anyone else is interested, let me know, as I would also need for us to carpool together. I could help arrange our carpooling and lodging ,for those interested. Could be a lot of fun!!! Robin

  • Ironhorse Race - race is sold out.

  • Teva Mountain Games - a road race and mountain race coming up in Vail that ought to be on your radar screen. The races take place the second weekend in June and will fill early.
    Uphill
Time Trial Road Race on Sunday, June 8th: Competitors of all ages and abilities will be able to race on the original Hill Climb course ridden by legendary riders such as Greg Lemond and Bernard Hinault back in the late 1980's. The course record of 26:33 still belongs to Giro d'Italia champion Andy Hampsten, set during the 1987 Coors Classic. Floyd Landis and Ned Overend battled on this course just last year. All participants will receive an athlete bag with cool Teva Mountain Games swag (no kidding, the best swag bag you will see all year!). Race entry is $30.
Details: The race starts in Vail Village, just east of the covered bridge. Time is 10:30 AM, but your start time will likely be later, as racers go off every 15 seconds or so. Mountain Bike Cross Country Race on Saturday, June 7th: This is a spectator-friendly circuit race that comes in and out of Vail Village at the Golden Peak base area, so you can bring friends and family to cheer you on. There is also a separate, special kids’ race course if the youngest racers in your family are interested in getting muddy. Each lap of the Teva course is 7 miles long. Juniors and beginners ride 1 lap, sport racers 2 laps, experts and pros 3 laps.    Mountain Bike Racing      (email contact Ted Benning)

  • THE BURN - Racers, The cat has officially been let out of the bag. The Burn is set for May 31st. My initial guess is that we will max out our participation for this race, so if you know of anyone that wants to race the event, please encourage them to register early. Cyclo-Core is providing a 4 week training plan, so that is some extra incentive to register early. We are going to need lots of volunteers for this event to keep our participants safe and content. If you would like to sign up for volunteering please email Chris Brockmeier. No need to be a team member to volunteer!

There is a whole bunch of useful information about the race and logistics on the website as well as links to registration. www.teamevergreenracing.com

Thanks for all your support!    Chris Brockmeier.    Register CLICK HERE

  • ALL MOUNTAIN BIKE RACERS - I know there is still some spring riding ahead for you skiers, but we need to start thinking about summer race plans and schedules so we can begin soliciting commitments for MTB race teams for the 2008 Series at Winter Park and Mountain States Cup. Here are the schedules: (These are good to bookmark) Winter Park Series    Mountain States Cup.   Let's maintain our dominance at Winter Park and move up even higher at MSC! If you have any questions, please contact Ted Benning.

Sponsorship      ( email contact Cynthia Ferrer)

  • DT Swiss pro deal - is now open, and pretty much all their products are available to TER. The order deadline is Thursday, April 17th at 5pm. Contact Rolo for pricing, availability, and more information.

  • Sponsorship survey - please take this 30 second survey to let us know your interest in our sponsorship offerings.

Training Opps for New Racers      ( email contact Cynthia Ferrer)

  • Cynthia Ferrer, Team Evergreen Racing member, is coordinating (in conjunction with the BMA - Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance) Tuesday night girls only rides in the Boulder area. These rides are open to all levels and are "no drop" rides that incorporate ride leaders and sweepers.

We have everyone from first time beginners to expert racers that come to our rides. If you are interested in riding with and meeting women that ride - come on out.  http://www.boa-mtb.org     http://tuesdayrides.blogspot.com .

Volunteer      ( email contact Chris Brockmeier)
  • COMBA Trail days - Looking for a head count... please RSVP to Chris.

Coming up on Saturday, April 26, we will begin our Mini-Crew season with a training day with staff. We are working with JCOS staff to confirm the meeting time. We will meet at the JCOS Open Space offices.

    Mini-Crew Trail Leaders
For those who are Mini-Crew Trail Leaders, you've probably come to find you're a rare breed as there are few crew leaders with additional training to work on JCOS trails. I hope to see you all join this year's mini-crew program and lead one event this year.

    Mini-Crew Trail Assistants
This is new position we are creating this year to begin the training process for future Mini-Crew Trail Leaders. For those of you who wish to join the program and begin training as an Assistant. We look forward to having you join the team. We are looking for five new recruits. You will be required to join training date on April 26. In addition, you will need to join a one work day with JCOS staff (M-Thurs. weekday) or a JCOS volunteer trail days (June 7 or July 19). As part of your commitment to the mini-crew program, you'll be asked to join mini-crew trail days as you can.
