Winter
Park Series
-
Current roster This
weekend's Winter Park Race will be busy with the Crankworx
events. Be sure to review the start/finish details at:
http://www.epicsingletrack.com/default.asp?page=racedes/race5des.html.
The start is way up Elk Creek Road out of Fraser. TER will not
have a tent setup at the base area but will use a corner of the
big food tent. The course is dry and loose so pay extra
attention to cornering and your descents. Look for the TER
banner, the grill, and the coolers after the race.
Results from WP Valley Point-to-Point race on July 19: Bob
Campbell-Sport 1st; Alec Betz-Beginner 1st; Coreen Wright-Expert
2nd; Ted Benning-Expert 3rd; Cory Kramer-Beginner 3rd. -

Weekend
training:
Saturdays:
Many ride leaders are racing during the summer, so most Saturday
rides will be "show and go" until August. This means that
everyone should feel free to show up at Morrison and Rooney Rds,
ready to ride by 9 am. Whoever is there can choose the route.
Sundays:
There is always a ride organized by the Team Evergreen Club. All
TER racers should consider joining in on these rides, as their
training and racing schedule permits. Route and start times are
listed on the TE website.

Boulder
training ride
- "Sunday Morning Fruit Loops" - coming in early August. Leaving
from Downtown Boulder at the corner of 18th and Pearl Street in
front of Full Cycle Bikes, we will head North on HWY 36 to
Lyons, do a little scenic loop in Lyons, then head East for
another loop of some farmland, and head back into boulder on N
75th Street. Total Distance is about 50 miles. Information?

Midweek
training -
Due to insufficient interest at this juncture in everyone's
training and racing, we will no longer lead a regular mid-week
training ride. Look for notice of TT/interval training mid-week,
starting February, 2009, and an occasional opportunity to train
on Wednesday.

The big road races
for the season are finishing up. Time to start transitioning to
cyclocross. Get in a short break, do some running and go
mountain biking. Yes running, there are some short sections you
will have to negotiate in cross and having done some running
will help. Start with 15-20min easy jog once a week, add 5 min
each week up to 30 min. Nothing serious, this just gets your
body ready. If you have a mountain bike, go do a winter park
race. They are a blast and you can see how well the other side
lives. Build those skills. If you are already mountain biking,
add in a run once a week.
First cyclocross
races are scheduled for the weekend of Sept 13 and 14th. There
are races every weekend, both days, for the next 13 weeks! More
details on targeted races will be coming once the ACA announces
the BCT/BCR races.
We will have a
skills day in August to teach people some techniques.
Contact
Brian France for info or
questions and ideas.

Bear Creek
Time Trial in September
- Please contact Alan Boisvert
aboisver@co.jefferson.co.us
if you would like to earn some volunteer credit helping out
with this COBRAS sponsored race (Green Mtn Sports Series). You would work the first
half of the race as a course marshall then race free the
second half. The same person would need to do it all four
weeks since the start list doesn't change, meaning you can't
switch your number with someone else.
