  • Urgent - Opportunity to be on TV - An ESPN affiliate is looking for a team to film riding this Friday (Oct 24) 2pm afternoon in the foothills. Team Evergreen racing kits required. Let us know if you can join us. We need 5 to 15 road riders to be filmed from helicopter. Meet at Morrison Rd & C-470 for a couple hours of riding and filming.   • Devil’s Thumb Ranch XC - Anita Nebel from TER has worked hard to offer the following Special Promotion from Devil’s Thumb Ranch:
    It’s no secret that cross-country skiing is one of the top cross-training workouts for cyclists. This winter Team Evergreen members will be able to take advantage of discounted rates for seasons passes, daily trail passes and Learn To Ski packages at Devil’s Thumb Nordic Center in Tabernash (near Winter Park). A season pass can be purchased for $150.00 (reg. $180) until Dec. 1st, then $200.00 after (reg. $240) Daily trail passes will be $13.00 (reg. $18.00). The Learn to Ski package, which includes equipment rental, trail pass and hour group lesson, is offered to TE members for $45.00 (reg. $60.00). The package is available Monday thru Thursdays, excluding Dec. 22-Jan. 2 and holidays. Members must present their Team Evergreen membership card to obtain these rates. Devil’s Thumb is also hosting a series of fun events throughout the winter, including Full Moon ski nights, Ski and Soak Days for the ladies and a Ski Fest on December 13th that will feature free lessons and free demos. If you haven’t been to Devil’s Thumb Ranch, this should be the winter to check it out. It is one of the premier Nordic Centers in the country.   • New racer opportunity - 11/8/08, On the Cross #1 will have a newbie race. Designed for first timers. Come see what all the fun is about!

  • ACA Updates: The upcoming Boulder Cup races are going to be BCR/BCT points races. These races are also attended by the top national pros. It is a lot of fun to go to those races and see how fast the top pros really are. Watch for the current women's national champion, Katie Compton. She is a local from Colorado Springs and has been the national champion for about four years.

  • Cyclocross Clinic: I will be in touch with those that have contacted me to get a clinic together. Contact me if you want to be apart of it. Plan on it happening the week of 10/20. Contact Brian France if interested.

  • Weekend training - We will begin our "off season" rides soon, most likely by the beginning of November. Look to an up-coming TER e-letter for the specific start day and time. Ride leaders: Mike McKenna and Robin Waterman.

    Sundays: There is a ride organized by the Team Evergreen Club. All TER racers should consider joining in on these rides, as their training and racing schedule permits. Route and start times are listed on the TE website.
